Upper Canada Village
| Kings Landing Upper Canada Village
which is located in the Cornwall area is larger
combination of relocated, reconstructed and restored
buildings which represent life in Upper Canada
during the period of 1784 to 1867. 40 buildings have
been relocated here that reflect that period. Glengarry
\County Home which is circa 1840, is characteristic of
the fine Georgian-style structures built by the
loyalists along the St Lawrence, with classical
proportions. The
buildings onsite range from a Lutheran Pastor's house to
a cheese factory where you can see how diary products
were processed and prepared for trade. The Willard Hotel
offers great period cuisine in it's restaurant while
displaying what overnight accommodation was like in the
1860s. Many other buildings are home t a woollen
factory, a bakery, a tine shop, a sawmill, a blacksmith
and many other necessary businesses and services which
were required during the growth and development of Upper
Canada.
