Hockey is the heart and soul of Canada. It is not just a sport but a philosophy of life with Hockey Night in Canada being one of the most familiar cultural experiences of being Canadian during those cold winter nights.  Canada claims world domination in the sport and is utterly depressed when it loses at the Olympics or a World Junior Championship, but more often then not celebrates more expressively and emotionally when the Gold comes home.

Hockey transcends the idea of the sport and has become one of the most popular representations of art. The Hockey night in Canada jingle is recognized just behind O Canada as Canada's song and the country comes to a complete haul during the Gold medal game. The final of a super series, or the last few minutes of a Canada cup game transfix the country. Hockey is Canada and it is a passion that unites, splits, depresses and brings us those glorious moments that last a lifetime.
