The creation of Canada as a Federal system in 1867 was really an experiment introduced by the North American British Colonies and effected by Britain's acceptance of the colonies recommendations. The development of the Canadian system and the search for a balanced Federalism has dominated Canadian politics since then and every decade or s seems to erupt into a national crisis.
