Although Canada did
not really conduct it's own foreign policy until 1931
when the Act of Westminster 1931 recognized the
sovereign authority of Canada to speak for itself n the
international arena. Canada's participation in
international agreements and conventions increased
drastically during World War II and the leadership shown
by Lester Pearson at the UN in suggesting UN
Peacekeepers has evolved into an recognized identity for
Canadian Foreign Policy. |
